You've probably already received at least one forwarded email claiming that a freak winter storm will hit KL at 7pm on Friday, 20th of November. We've received 3, all with different claims, but basically stating that a freak weather phenomenon is due to hit the country on the 20th of November.
Siti Aizza Sarmani of the Malaysian Meteorological Department has clarified that a winter storm in the country would be not possible. She however isn't able to confirm at this point in time the possible weather conditions that are expected on the 20th.
So, there you have it. Personally i think that we might experience a severe drop in temperature on the 20th, but not enough to cause anything more then a flood inducing thunderstorm. Ironically enough, doomsday movie 2012, based on the Mayan end of Calendar prophecy opens in cinemas nationwide on the 12th.
