Haunted Surau at Beach in Negeri Sembilan

Yin and her friends love to go for the nearby beaches at night to enjoy the night’s sea breeze. One particular night brought Yinand her friends to realize that sometimes things are not were they seem to be.

It was a cool and breezy night for Yin and her friends when they decided to stay by at a mamak stall near a beach in Negeri Sembilan for drinks. There was in total 2 cars and everyone jumped out of the car and hang out at the mamak stall. It was about 2 in the morning when Yin felt the call of nature. Perhaps she was drinking too much of teh-o-ais-limau (Ice lemon tea). Co-incidently, her guy friend James also felt the call of nature and asked the owner of the mamak stall if there was any toilet nearby. The mamak stall owner told Yin and James that the nearest toilet would be some distance away and the easiest way to relieve themselves was probably at the bushes nearby. Yin refused to relieve herself that way and urged James to accompany her to the toilet the mamak stall owner was talking about. After asking for some simple directions, Yin and James informed their friends and headed down the long and lonely road.

After some 20 minutes of walking, Yin and James found the toilet. The toilet that the mamak stall owner was talking about happened to be a Surau (a place for Muslims to pay their respects to their God). Although the Surau happens to be a holy place but Yin and James felt a creepy feeling that cannot be described. Not only was the place dark without any street lights (the nearest street light was some 2 – 3 metres away), the Surau had a big tree next to it which made the whole place looked even darker than it already is. As Yin walked into the dark Surau, she tried to reach for the switch lights. After fumbling around for the switches, Yin and James could not find the switch. As Yin and James walked out onto the road again, they battled within themselves if they wanted to go into the Surau again. Although Yin and James did not mention about the nagging creepy feeling that each of them felt, they reached consensus that perhaps it was a wiser decision to relieve themselves at the nearby bushes.

After a relieving themselves, Yin and James was about to walk back to the mamak stall when they saw 2 cars approaching fast. They realized that their friends came to relieve themselves as well. As the rest of her guy and girlfriends went to their own separate toilets, Yin and James decided to stay in the car and wait. Yin refused to walk into the Surau again. After some 5 minutes of waiting in the car, Yin suddenly heard her friend Tina screaming and running out from the toilet. At the very same time, all her friends also ran out from the Surau, quickly got into the car and drove off.

After Tina manage to calm down, Yin and the rest of her car-pooling friends asked Tina what she saw. Tina related that she was having her menstruation and after she relieved herself, she noticed there were some blood stains on the toilet walls which was not there before when she entered the cubicle. Thinking that perhaps she accidentally stained the wall, she began to wash off the blood stains. While splashing some water onto the wall, she suddenly realized that the blood stains were too high to be caused by her and immediately felt something very wrong. That was when she screamed and left the toilet.

No one spoke a word on their way back to Kuala Lumpur.

Toyota Camry Facelift now in UMW Showrooms

Toyota Camry Facelift

UMW Toyota has just launched the new Camry facelift here in Malaysia. Like the outgoing pre-facelift model, three variants are available – the Camry 2.0E for RM144,900, the Camry 2.0G for RM154,990 and finally the Camry 2.4V priced at RM174,990. All prices are OTR with insurance in Malaysia.

Let’s cut down to the chase on what’s new. First up is obviously its looks. There is a new grille, bumpers, and new wheels designs. The 2.0 models share a 16 inch wheel design while the 2.4 liter model gets a different design that is larger at 17 inches. LED lighting is used in the new rear taillamps.

On the interior, all models share a similiar colour scheme. The 2.0E model uses a new seat fabric design while the 2.0G and 2.4V models get a perforated leather trim for the seats. Cruise control has been added to the 2.0G model, previously available only on the 2.4V model. A new AUX input jack is provided in the cntre console for you to hook up your MP3 player or iPod. Front seats for the G and V cars have 8-way electrical adjustment including lumbar adjustment for the driver.

One unique feature is a switch on the side of the passenger seat’s backrest to allow the rearleft occupant to easily move the front passenger seat forward for better legroom. This is a feature usually found only on the large cars like the 7-Series and the S-Class and makes a bit easier for the Camry to be used as a car that you’re driven in.

A new feature for the top of the line 2.4V is the Smart Entry & Start System which is basically keyless entry and go. All you need is for the Remote Control Unit to be near the car on the driver (within a certain distance) and you can grab the door handles to unlock the doors and deactivate the immobiliser. Then a push start button can be used to start the car. A button on the rear end of the car does the same for the boot opening mechanism. VSC Stability Control and Traction Control are only offered on the 2.4V model. All models get ABS brakes.

The engine and transmission options remain the same as the pre-facelift model – a 2.0 liter engine making 147 PS at 6,000rpm and 190Nm of torque at 4,00rpm as well as a 2.4 liter engine making 167 PS at 6,000rpm and 224Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. The 2.0 is mated to a 4-speed Super ECT while the 2.4 gets a 5-speed Super ECT.

Honda FCX Clarity

Let's not talk about Mercedes-Benz F-Cell, this is the new Honda FCX Clarity. It is a hydrogen fuel cell automobile manufactered by Honda. It is now on sale. This is a car of the future. It kills the Prius and the others, obviously! Mercedes-Benz haven't started selling their hydrogen car yet, so this is the only 1 we can buy now. The FCX Clarity is powered by a 5.7-litre, 100kW Honda Vertical Flow (V Flow) hydrogen fuel cell stack. Electricity is stored in a 288V lithium ion battery. This vehicle is replacing the Honda Accord Hybrid which goes slow on sales.

Why hydrogen but not hybrid? According to Top Gear, 30 litres of hydrogen costs the same as 30 litres of gasoline in California. Also, the FCX Clarity's power plant is much simpler than an internal combustion engine, so it doesn't need to be serviced that often. Although it cost a bit more expensive then petrol and diesel, it's cheaper in long-run. It's because hydrogen can last longer than petrol and diesel.

Look like a civilised car isn't it? Not that prototype anymore..... Just a normal Honda.

Mercedes-Benz F-Cell and BlueEFFICIENCY

Have you heard of F-Cell or BlueEFFICENCY? It's not always about the Hybrid, right? We have to move forward to a better solution, F-Cell. The F-Cell is a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle developed by Daimler AG. Two different versions are known - the current one based on the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, and a concept vehicle for a future version based on the Mercedes-Benz B-Class. The first generation F-Cell was introduced in 2002, and had a range of 100 miles (160 km), with a top speed of 82 mph (132 km/h). There are 60 F-Cell vehicles leased to customers in the USA, Europe, Singapore and Japan. The future, B-Class based F-Cell has a more powerful electric engine rated at 100 kW (134 horsepower), and a range of about 250 miles (402 km). This improvement in range is due in part to the B-Class's greater space for holding tanks of compressed hydrogen, higher storage pressure, as well as fuel cell technology advances. Both cars have made use of a "sandwich" design concept, aimed at maximizing room for both passengers and the propulsion components. The fuel cell is a proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC), designed by Ballard Power Systems.

BlueEFFIENCY is a new system introduced by Mercedes-Benz in 2007. They first use the system in the C-Class. Then, the E-Class. BlueEFFICIENCY powers the vehicles with turbocharged but with the lowest emission of fuel consumption.
